When using a downloaded template:
1. In general, the color-shaded cells contain formulas that you should not change. If you add a row to the spreadsheet, you must also add a summing formula to the new “Total” cell on the right side.
2. You may change the category names on the left, the year and month cells, or the title cells at the top.
3. After you have finished making changes to the spreadsheet and have entered your data into the blank cells, do some manual checking that the spreadsheet formulas are still intact and are properly summing the rows and columns.
